The Assistant Director serves as an academic counselor for assigned teams and coordinates all aspects of department-wide projects or programs. The Assistant Director has responsibilities representing the department with university partners and within the ASPSA, across units. The individual also provides all the functions of an academic counselor. Academic counselors provide academic support to student-athletes and assist with academic coaching in areas including study skills, time management, organizational skills, and methods for choosing balanced schedules, factoring in the demands of classes, practicing, competing, and eligibility standards.
