The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Head Men’s Volleyball Coach. Responsibilities and duties are as follows: planning, development and administration of all phases of the men’s volleyball program, including preparation and management of the budget, practice and game scheduling, travel arrangements and cost management, procurement of supplies/equipment, recruitment and selection of student-athletes and managers, interaction with support services and involvement in appropriate public relations/fundraising and promotional activities. Candidate must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for the student-athlete, and have the ability to understand how to guide, teach, and communicate with collegiate student-athletes—must have comprehension of the demands placed on a Division I student-athlete—both in the classroom and in the competitive arena—and the willingness to help them succeed in both. Emphasis is placed on the commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of UCLA, its respective conference and the NCAA. Candidate must possess the ability to work compatibly and cooperatively with the staff and personnel in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and other University units.

Required qualifications include: bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and a record of compliance in this area, fiscal management, effective communication skills with student-athletes, administrators, peers and the general public, and the ability to select, recruit, and train elite athletes. 5-8 years demonstrated coaching experience at the Division I level is preferred.
