The primary role of this position is to create engaging content that reaches wide audiences to elevate the department’s brand, enhance the student-athlete experience, capture the attention of prospective student-athletes, improve fan engagement, promote competitions, and showcase the department’s commitment to building champions. This position is also responsible for brand strategy planning and execution activities.
The position of Coordinator of Brand Management and Social Media will be a full-time, 12-month member of the staff in the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Intercollegiate Athletics Program. The Coordinator of Brand Management and Social Media will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations. The Coordinator of Brand Management and Social Media must conduct themselves in such a way as to enhance respect for the University, the program and UWL student-athletes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional experience may be substituted on a year for year basis in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
1-3 years of experience in marketing, promotions, and event coordination.
Professional or personal experience in Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Canva, and Photography or Videography.
Professional or personal experience using Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and Meta Business Manager/Ads Manager.
Professional experience with video board operations, graphic and video development.
1-3 years’ experience in Social Media and Brand planning and strategy.
Excellent people skills, as evidenced by the ability to present clear and accurate information to small and large groups.
Excellent written communication skills. Proficiency in standard office applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.,
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
At least one year of general athletic program administrative experience.
At least one year of Professional experience working within a Division III athletics program.
Experience supervising employees who use video board operations, graphic and video development.
Professional experience in budget management and reporting experience to help department leadership see the full marketing picture.
At least one year experience in presenting analytics and data storytelling to individuals with little understanding.
