Certified Athletic Trainer
Reporting to the Athletic Director, the Certified Athletic Trainer will provide superior care, prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation and reconditioning of all athletic related injuries and to help promote the overall health and well-being of each individual Student Athlete. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administrative Responsibilities
*Manage daily operation of the Athletic Training Room(s) *Serve as a referral source to the Health Services Department for evaluation of injuries within the scope of care of a Certified Athletic Trainer. *Coordination of Club Sports referrals. *Submission of athlete medical insurance claims. *Maintaining athlete medical records. *Assist with the maintenance of our Third Party Reimbursement. *Assist with the coordination of athletic pre-participation physical exams and collection of compliance pre-season documentation. *Help insure compliance to all regulatory agencies. *Assisting with the development and implementation of all Sports Medicine Policy and Procedures. *Implementation of Emergency Action Plans through the various practice/game sites. *Comprise daily injury reports for assigned teams. *Arrange EMS coverage for all athletic events as necessary. *Manage and maintain inventory supply.
Compliance
Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Certification and Licensure ethics standards, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the campus Compliance staff.
Clinical Responsibilities
*Daily treatment and evaluation of athletic injuries. *Application of rehabilitation regimens for athletic injuries as well as, pre and post-surgical rehabilitation. *Determining return-to-play status of athletic injuries. *Daily pre-game/practice taping for athletic teams. *Maintain proper records of treatment progressions. *Assist with the development of In-season, Off-season and Pre-season strength & conditioning programs with strength coach.
Requirements:
· Must be a NATA Certified and either licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia. · CPR/AED Certification (Either AMA/AHA) · Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training / Master’s Degree preferred in related field · Must have experience with collegiate sports and multiple sports setting · Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
