Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Training Development: Collaborate with the Head Coach to design and implement effective training plans tailored to the specific needs of sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers.
Recruitment: Assist in identifying and recruiting talented student-athletes who demonstrate the potential to excel in sprints, hurdles, and jumps.
NCAA Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to NCAA rules and regulations regarding recruiting, eligibility, and student-athlete welfare.
CARA Logs: Maintain accurate and up-to-date Countable Athletically Related Activities (CARA) logs per NCAA guidelines.
Meet Management: Assist in organizing and coordinating all aspects of team participation in track and field meets, including entry submissions, travel arrangements, and logistical planning.
Performance Analysis: Analyze athlete performance data to identify areas for improvement and adjust training strategies accordingly.
Student-Athlete Development: Provide guidance and support to student-athletes in balancing academic and athletic responsibilities, fostering personal growth and development.
Team Culture: Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture prioritizes teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship.
Community Engagement: Engage with alumni, fans, and the broader community to promote the track and field program and enhance its visibility and support through social media.
Professional Development: Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in coaching, attending clinics, workshops, and conferences as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Previous coaching experience at the collegiate or elite level
