The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in the management of the track program including assisting with coaching athletes who specialize in throwing events. The assistant will also help with recruitment of qualified prospective student-athletes, travel planning, fundraising efforts, community outreach projects, team promotion and other daily projects as assigned by the Head Coach. Coaching – Works with athletes in the track program who participate in throwing events (Discus, Hammer Throw, Javelin, Shot Put). Recruiting – Telephone calls, attendance at track meets as well as letters and written correspondence to potential student athletes/planning and executing campus visits for recruits.
