James Madison University, a Division I Member of the NCAA and Sunbelt Conference, is seeking a Men's Golf Assistant Coach. This position is a full-time, 12-month position with a full comprehensive benefits package. The anticipated start date is upon first availability. Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Assistant Men's Golf Coach include but are not limited to: coaching, daily instructions with the team, recruiting, player development, transportation of players to and from practice, facility up-keep, overseeing academics of players, equipment apparel orders and compliance with NCAA, Sunbelt and JMU regulations. Required Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree • A qualified candidate will possess the skills in teaching course management to student-athletes and helping them on course in tournaments. • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills and will possess initiative and leadership. • The ability to guide and support James Madison University student-athletes in their quest for excellence-academically, athletically and socially as they prepare for productive and meaningful lives. • The ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and the community. Preferred Qualifications:
• Candidates should preferably have previous coaching/playing experience and the ability to recruit high level student-athletes at the Division I level.
