Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Development & Revenue Generation, this position develops and maintains a portfolio of alumni, parents, and friends of Mount Athletics through working collaboratively with colleagues and peers in University Advancement to identify, cultivate, and solicit and submit 12-18 major gift proposals ($25,000+) for the Department of Athletics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Associate AD for Revenue Generation and Strategic Initiatives to develop fundraising strategies for the Department of Athletics to achieve short and long term goals Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects for philanthropic annual support and/or capital campaign/special projects related to Athletics and University priorities Provide individualized and strategic stewardship of existing athletic donors with major gift capacities Identify and qualify new prospects with capacities to make major gifts of $25,000 or more Local, regional, and potential national-based travel to engage and establish strong relationships with alumni and other prospects Work closely with Head Coaches and sports, as assigned, to develop annual fundraising plans and identify programmatic capital projects Maintain prospect records, contacts, and trip notes within the Division of University Advancement’s CRM system Manage a portfolio of prospective donors through face-to-face visits, receptions, and other community events Meet or exceed agreed-upon fundraising goals, as determined on a yearly basis through consultation with University Advancement and Athletics
Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:
Ideal candidate will be proactive, self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed and constantly push the Mount’s athletics department forward 3+ years of experience in higher education fundraising and intercollegiate athletics or professional sports Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and closing of gifts of $5,000+ Ability to make cold calls for discovery and cultivation This position is expected to travel, work outside of business hours, and be on campus for select athletics events, as needed and necessary.
