The Assistant Womens Lacrosse Coach is a full-time, 12-month position that reports directly to the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. This position oversees the development of Flagler College women's lacrosse players and executes the prescribed program to ensure their physical readiness to compete successfully in a highly competitive NCAA Division II women's lacrosse program. The position is also responsible for the recruitment and procurement of student-athletes who can help the women's lacrosse program maintain national competitiveness.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruit capable student-athletes that are compatible with the institution
Teach, train, coach and instruct student-athletes in the sport of women's lacrosse
Assist the head coach in creating, implementing and administering methods of instruction, measurements, and testing of the learning potential and the achievement of student-athletes
Assist the head coach with game contracts for each season
Obtain scouting reports of season opponents
Assist with in-season/off-season conditioning program
Equipment distribution and inventory of all uniforms and other related gear
Assist with maintaining lacrosse field and locker room facility
Maintain practice logs to be given to Compliance Director
Complete unofficial/official visits paperwork
Setup and coordinator on-campus recruiting visits
Pre-game schedule sent to incoming teams each spring
Scholarship breakdown in excel
Engage in successful community relations within the college community; establish a positive opinion of Flagler Athletics in particular among Flagler students, faculty and other employees
Establish a positive opinion of the Flagler women's lacrosse program within the city of St. Augustine, the state of Florida, and on the national level
Communicate (when appropriate) with students, parents and physicians to determine student-athlete eligibility or ineligibility to participate
Assist the head coach and athletic trainers in handling injuries and emergencies
Assist the head coach in creating, implementing and administering methods of instruction, measurements and testing of the learning potential and the achievement of student-athletes
Assist the head coach in scheduling all competition against recognized and respected colleges and universities
Assist the head coach in scheduling and administering efficient, effective, well-organized practice sessions
Maintain regular office hours throughout the calendar year and attend college events as available
Encourage retention of student-athletes
Assist the head coach in organizing and implementing fundraising initiatives
Assist head coach in remedying any unsatisfactory circumstances that may occur
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, Head Coach, or other college executives
