The Creative Content Coordinator for Samford Athletics creates digital content for our 17 Division I programs through photo and video.
Job Duties Assist in the content creation for Samford’s 17 Division I athletic programs, including photography, videography, graphic design, social media, and live production. Work closely with the athletics communications team to strategize and execute content plans for social media coverage of assigned sports, and to coordinate graphic, photo, and video needs.
Create digital content for platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube in an effort to support athletics recruiting and promotional efforts.
Be innovative in storytelling on social media for assigned sports by exploring creative ways to tell the Samford athletics story.
Work in conjunction with marketing and communications staff to oversee video production of fan experience content, including intro, hype, and situational videos.
Assist in the hiring, training, and managing of student workers who work in creative media.
Some travel is required for away games, postseason tournaments, etc. Serve as a team player and collaborator among the rest of the Athletics Marketing & Communications team. Other duties as assigned.
Ability to lift, carry, set up and breakdown equipment up to 20 pounds at times.
Advanced computer skills, particularly in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of various social media platforms and trends, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Familiarity with storytelling through digital mediums.
Familiarity and comfortability with photo and video cameras and lenses.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Effective organizational and management skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, and student-athletes.
Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines.
Availability to work during evenings, weekends, select holidays, and daily office hours.
