The Assistant Director for Facilities & Events will assist the Assistant AD/Facilities & Events with game day operations for all home athletics events as well as athletic facility management, maintenance and scheduling. This leadership position will also assist in budget management, creation and submission of postseason bids.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Game Day Operations/Events
Assist the Assistant AD/Facilities & Events with overall game day operations at various home athletic contests. Serves as the main gameday contact for women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse and assigned athletic events. Plan and schedule staffing need’s for various home athletic contests. Assist with facility preparation for various home athletic contests. Serve as Tournament Director for select athletic events. Facility Operations
Submit web-based work orders for various facility repairs. Responsible for athletic facility scheduling including department needs as well as assisting with reservations for outside groups. Coordinate team practice/training schedules at the various athletic facilities on campus. Assist with general oversight and management of capital projects and/or facility improvements. Administrative duties
Complete and submit all services rendered forms for game day workers, track staffing and payments to ensure budget management. Hire and train student-employees for various game day work. Assist with the creation and submission of bids for conference and NCAA postseason events. Assist in game operations budget management. Assist with coordination of non-athletic events and special events in all athletic facilities.
Assist the Athletics Business Office and the Controller’s Office with periodic capital equipment inventory as well as manage internal department equipment and maintenance. Event Staffing Supervision
Supervise game day staff at Olympic Sports events (scoreboard operator, event technician, campus facilities staff, etc.). Work with RMC Events personnel during events staffed by RMC Events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must have independent judgement & decision-making abilities around events for weather, crowd management, risk management, etc.
Must be able to work outdoors and perform light lifting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products as well as the ability to learn, understand, and administer the campus scheduling software, EMS.
Candidates must be highly motivated, energetic, and be able to manage a work schedule that includes nights and weekend work.
Adherence to all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations is required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s preferred.
1-2 years of experience in a related field, collegiate athletics preferred.
