The West Coast Conference was formed in 1952 and has evolved and grown to become a nationally recognized and competitive force in Division I intercollegiate athletics. Role Summary
Reporting to the Executive Associate Commissioner, the Assistant to Commissioner/Office Manager will serve as assistant to the Commissioner and manage the WCC office and related responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide daily administrative support to Commissioner including calendaring, filing, expense reporting and travel arrangements
Manage facilities, equipment, and storage
Oversee shipping and receiving
Responsible for planning and execution of conference meetings and staff events including venue contracts, room layout, catering and audio-visual needs
Provide support to all cabinets, committees and advisory groups
Manage and track employee vacation and sick days
Lead in managing and coordinating WCC internal office operations including mail systems, office supplies (on location and remotely), and maintenance of common areas.
Assist with championship apparel ordering and distribution for championship participants, personnel, staff and volunteers
Support of officiating services, contracts, background checks and assignment platforms
Support human resources manager with projects as assigned
Manage job postings, hiring logistics and onboarding
Support the information technology lead in preparing computers and managing software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, Datto, etc
Maintain Conference Directory and WCC email distributions lists
Assist with logistics for staff Plenary meetings, Hall of Honor, and Honors Dinner including travel, lodging, catering, and room layout
Provide support to Basketball Tournament VIP area
Demonstrated understanding of the West Coast Conference’s core values of collaboration, inclusion, innovation, integrity, personal growth and performance
Effective and professional communication, both orally and in writing
Demonstrated high-level proficiency in Microsoft programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite programs) and other relevant software required
Education and Experience
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
Experience in intercollegiate athletics, or non-profit organization preferred
Scope/Job Complexity
Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
Supervision
General instructions on new assignment; normally receives little instruction/direction on day-to-day work responsibilities.
Work Location
Hybrid with a minimum expectations of two days per week in South San Francisco, CA office.
Travel requirements
10-15% of travel
Salary
$53,000 – 70,000
