General Summary: Effectively coach, teach, prepare, positively motivate and mentor student-athletes for Academic, Athletics and Life successes.
Major Duties:
Effectively prepare players for each game and each season with dedication so as to assist the student-athletes to attain their maximum level of athletic performance and to successfully compete against major college competition.
Effectively teach, mentor and foster student-athletes in key areas such as mental wellness, time management, teamwork and social interaction abilities so as to prepare student-athletes for academic and life success.
Prepare to teach/coach using game/practice film, practice session evaluations, strength & conditioning session evaluations, statistical analysis and other sport-specific industry best practices, prepare lesson (practice) plans to improve student-athletes knowledge base and skill set resulting in improved performance.
Identify, evaluate, scout, recruit, and interview prospective student-athletes and their parents/guardians/stakeholders in an effort to secure the best possible student-athletes for the Program and University.
Maintain strict adherence to University, Conference and NCAA rules in effectively performing administrative duties. Sample administrative duties might include: Fundraising activities, Budget management, team travel planning, equipment coordination, NCAA CARA (Countable athletic-related activities) documentation, recruiting scheduling and trip planning, University housing/meal plan services, the arrangement of pre-season training camp details and other duties of similar administrative capacity to these example duties.
Additional duties as assigned to contribute to the athletic department and the success of student-athletes.
Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
-1 year of relevant coaching experience.
-Demonstrate effectiveness in recruiting, training, coaching, evaluating, and supervising student-athletes to attain their maximum level of academic and athletic performance, and to compete successfully against major college competition in a quality program.
Desired Qualifications
-Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
-Coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level, nd/or professional playing experience.

REIGN is the acronym for WMU’s mission and stands for Reign as champions; Empower those we serve; Inspire community; Grow leaders, and Navigate and adapt.

Broncos Reign took the values and priorities of the department and developed them into six strategic goals:
