Sweet Briar College seeks a dynamic coach to lead its century-old lacrosse program. This is a full-time, 10-month position.
The head coach is responsible for all aspects of leading a NCAA DIII program. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment of prospective student-athletes, development of student- athletes as athletes, scholars and leaders, competition preparation and strategy, supervision of assistant coaches, scheduling, alumni and public relations, adherence to NCAA rules and regulations, and general administrative duties. The Head Coach will also be responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals and Mission of both the college and its Athletic program as well as adherence to departmental, college, and NCAA policies and procedures.
The head coach will be empowered to build and maintain all aspects of the Lacrosse program, including practice plans, scheduling, and travel arrangements. *Recruitment and retention of academically eligible students. *Understanding of NCAA Rules and Compliance. *Excellent organization and communication skills necessary.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree, preferably in a sports-related field/coaching certification.
Previous playing/coaching experience at a club or collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree, preferably in a sports-related field (i.e. sport management, kinesiology, exercise physiology, coaching/leadership education).
