Grinnell College seeks a assistant women’s basketball coach. This assistant coach will work with the head coach to develop and maintain a positive student-athlete experience that focuses on student-athlete development, building an inclusive culture, recruiting elite prospective student-athletes, and contributing positively to the College’s Athletic Department. The coach will help create purpose and value to the College’s and the Athletic Department missions.
This is a term position working 1300 hours in the fiscal year and is eligible for benefits.
This role requires some travel and the ability work nights, and weekends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Work with specific sub-groups of student athletes, practice planning, video/technical review, and analysis. Conduct team, group and individual meetings with students focusing on skill development and team culture building. Could include travel planning, equipment management, maintenance of facility, monitoring student-athlete academic success. Work with head coaches and the enrollment office to identify, target, recruit and yield high-level student athletes, and support a diverse group of academically and athletically talented student-athletes. Serve as assistant event manager or assistant strength and conditioning coach within the Athletics Department. Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic department.
