As part of the Athletics Communications staff, the position will have primary oversight of the departments sports information functions and assist with the department’s communications, marketing and branding in the manner that upholds the philosophy and objectives of the University of Wisconsin-Superior Athletic Department.
Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the athletic program; to include adhering to and enforcing all departmental policies and procedures, as well as rules and regulations of the University, the governing sport conference, and the NCAA.
60% of duties – Sports Information • Maintain the statistical databases for each sport and report results to the NCAA, the University’s governing conference(s), applicable conference affiliates, and local, regional, and national media. • Coordinate and manage the compilation of statistics for all home athletic events, including the scheduling and management of student and game day staff, set-up and tear-down of the scorestable(s), and other duties essential to statistic compilation and game day support. • Coordinate and oversee the live statistics platform for all home athletic events and assist with the coordination and oversight of online video streaming.
30% of duties – Athletic Communications, Marketing and Branding • Assists with the overall advancement of the Athletic Department’s communication and marketing efforts. • Maintain the university’s athletics website including the timely publication of game recaps, schedules, rosters and other engaging and essential content. • Assist with the management and oversight of department and team social media accounts and creative content. • Assist with the development, implementation, and management of department’s marketing and branding strategies. • Assist with graphic design and creative content development, coordinating the creation and development of materials, such as: social media graphics, infographics, guides and publications, and other needs. • Assists with fostering and upholding of the Athletic Department and University’s marketing and brand standards.
10% of duties – Athletic Operations • Assist with departmental special events and game operations. • Participates in public relations activities to include speaking engagements, television and radio interviews and press conferences, as approved or requested. Represents Athletic Department at professional, civic, charitable and alumni events. • Performs other related duties as assigned. • Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
One or more years of experience working in collegiate athletics.
