Provide coaching expertise and leadership for the indoor and beach volleyball programs. This is a graduate assistant position.

Assignments received from: Assistant Athletic Director/Head Indoor Volleyball Coach, Head Beach Volleyball Coach

Nature of supervision received: General Supervision
Nature of supervision given and individual(s) or groups supervised: Supervises players, managers, student assistants in the indoor and beach volleyball programs as well as University Sports Complex student/part time staff as needed
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
Assist with organization and supervision for all practices and contests Assist with the recruiting program to attract outstanding student-athletes to attend Loyola University Assist with facilities scheduling Attend and participate in department staff meetings Aid the Head Coaches with: Budget requests Scheduling of games and practices Scheduling of officials Purchase and maintenance of equipment Contest administration On Court Coaching Duties Film exchange Prepare Scouting reports with break down tape included Facilities scheduling Eligibility Recruiting Individual Camps Team Camps Social Media Supervise facility set-up for home matches and assist game management with other sports
Additional Responsibilities: Assist with University Sports Complex operations and department game management as needed Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director/Head Indoor Volleyball Coach, Head Beach Volleyball Coach
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities
Baccalaureate degree required
Through knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the conduct of intercollegiate athletics; Knowledge of the NAIA rules to include eligibility is preferred
Ability to work effectively with college student athletes, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the community
A philosophy of intercollegiate athletics that places the highest emphasis on the pre-eminence of the academic mission of the institution and role of athletics as part of the student total personal system of ethical values which will be used as the basis for supervising and developing the intercollegiate program
Must possess and maintain a current valid driver’s license as a condition of employment, and must also be able to successfully pass any driver background information investigation and any driver education courses required by Risk Management.
Performance and conduct which is basically supportive of the principles and traditions of a Catholic, Jesuit higher education and the goals of the University.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Volleyball Graduate Assistant Coach must be able to raise and lower volleyball nets, assist in setting up bleachers, scorer’s tables and player seating for intercollegiate contests and drive and transport athletes if needed.
