Provide direction, supervision and management for the internal operations of the Athletic Department, including personnel management, facilities, athletic support services, budgeting and event management consistent with the philosophy of the institution, NCAA and NSIC.
Coordinate with the Director of Athletics in the supervision of administrative, coaching and support staff, recommendations relative to appointments, retention, promotions, salary, leave requests and other necessary personnel actions.
Initiate and coordinate the planning and policies necessary to achieve compliance with gender-equity and Title IX. This will involve keeping up to date on new developments including federal and state legislation in order to provide direction for future planning
Coordinate with the compliance program and work with the institutional representative to insure that the institution is in compliance with NCAA and NSIC regulations. Coordinate with the campus community in assuring normal progress by coordinating the scholarship and eligibility programs for all student-athletes including recruitment, admission and the processing of all scholarships and eligibility forms to insure normal academic progress and rules compliance.
Actively participate in the engagement, cultivation and stewardship of alumni, fans, friends and corporate partners.
Required Qualifications:
Three years progressive leadership roles in Intercollegiate Athletics, Higher Education, Applicable business/industry
Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules, communications, interpersonal and organizational skills, and business operations are necessary for this position.
Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials, required overnight travel to attend away contests, conventions and conferences.
Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon Athletics competes at the NCAA Division II level in the highly competitive Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Dragon Athletics is comprised of almost 400 student-athletes competing in 16 varsity sports and two spirit squads. With a population of more than 170,000, the Fargo-Moorhead area community is the largest metropolitan area between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Spokane, Washington. The community is home to around 25,000 college students who attend three 4 year universities and a 2 year community and technical college. Moorhead, MN and Fargo, ND are on the Minnesota/North Dakota border approximately 250 miles northwest of Minneapolis/St. Paul and 250 miles south of Winnipeg at the juncture of Interstates 94 and 29.
