This hands-on position will provide leadership in the areas of Athletic Eligibility/Compliance as it relates to the NCAA and PAC 12 conferences, Veterans Services, and Transfer Articulations, and overall support. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to service, an ability to create an effective team and supervise staff, possess computer skills to manage and evaluate data, have experience with integrated administrative software and knowledge of Federal and State regulations. This person will collaborate with the Enrollment Management division of Academic Affairs to assure quality in service to students, faculty, and staff. This position reports to the University Registrar. *This position oversees all aspects of continuing and initial athletic eligibility certification, including working with the Directors and Academic Counselors in Athletics, Office of Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, and Athletic Compliance Office. Responsible for entering and submitting the GSR (Graduation Success Rate) to the NCAA. *Assists the Compliance Office in ensuring that the University is compliant with all University, PAC 12, and NCAA legislation. *Coordinates completion of data submission for the NCAA, PAC 12, and the University of Utah departments…including the Academic Progress Report and the Graduation Success Report. *Provides query information needed by athletics and the NCAA. *Provides leadership and oversight for Veterans Services ensuring compliance with *Veterans Administration Benefit Programs. *Coordinates both the domestic and the international Transfer Articulation processes working closely with Office of Admissions, Learning Abroad, academic advisors across campus, and degree audit encoders in the Registrar’s Office. *Responsible for ensuring articulations are entered into the system of record to provide consistency and efficiency in the posting of transfer credit to students’ records. *Leads a team of staffers who work across all areas of Compliance and Transfer Articulations.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related area, or equivalency; five years of experience; and a working knowledge of Registrar functions; including but not limited to: student information systems, degree audit, veteran services, NCAA athletic certification, registration & records management, graduation certification, transcript & verification, class & event scheduling; and staff management, supervisory, critical thinking and problem solving skills required.
Master’s Degree is preferred, has a working knowledge of the University of Utah, academic and student service areas, and University regulations, policies and procedures.
