The Assistant Director of Creative Services - Video Production works with the Creative Services department in overseeing the video idea development, creation and production for Purdue University Athletics. You will be responsible for shooting, producing, directing and editing of video content for internal and external areas of Purdue Athletics as well as be responsible for an area of concentration that will focus on creating content for recruiting materials, social media and on campus visits for all sports or will focus on creating content for feature stories, creative series and positive messages regarding our teams and Student-Athletes for all sports and departments.
Responsibilities: Attend various sporting and athletic events to shoot video for production of creative content for public consumption. Manage video acquisition, organization and distribution with staff, corresponding universities, and campus departments and media outlets Work directly with coaching staff and communications to capture unique requests during the events. Conceive, script, direct and produce video shoots and interviews Conceive script, score and produce original highlight, motivational and banquet videos for various sports and events. Create videos for the Marketing and Fan Experience area such as promotional videos and/or commercials informing the public of upcoming events. Videos for JPC would include information on member events, special occasions and offers specifically for JPC members only. Assist in making recommendations of repair and replacement equipment
Required:
Bachelor's degree
3 years of experience working in video production
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, within groups and individually
Working knowledge of production process
Working knowledge of applicable creative software applications including the Adobe Creative Suite
Working knowledge to maintain files and image storage
Proficient with using video cameras to shoot footage as well as setting up equipment such as lighting or backdrops
Ability to edit footage to use for a variety of formats including television and internet
Ability to manage projects from concept to creation
Interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with a variety of clients, support staff and vendors
Ability to accept feedback as part of the creative process and educate clients on design theory and/or using that feedback to make work stronger
Skills in collaboration to best meet goals and objectives of clients
Must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the Big Ten Conference, the NCAA as well as the Big Ten Network
May be required to work extend hours including nights, weekends and holidays
