Talladega College seeks a Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach prepared to lead a highly competitive program. The successful candidate will be skilled at recruiting and developing talented athletes who are also strong academic students. We aspire to hire a leader who will be an integral part of the athletic department and the college and strengthen our community of belonging. Reporting to the Vice President/ Director of Athletics, the successful candidate will be responsible for all facets of Talladega College's men's & women's tennis programs.
The candidate will demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive liberal arts education, Division II athletics, and an appreciation for and commitment to the NCAA, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), and institutional culture. Along with coaching, the candidate will be assigned administrative responsibilities in the Department of Athletics. The candidate will have experience creating campus and community support for the men's & women's tennis programs and their athletes and continuing to build upon the tradition of competitive athletic programs. They will possess the ability to effectively communicate with a range of constituents and contribute to a positive work environment.
Responsibilities Include: 1. Recruitment and retention of student-athletics who can be successful in an athletically and academically rigorous environment. 2. Ability to develop the skills of athletes, 3. Create a competitive schedule within budget parameters, 4. Actively participate in fundraising strategies, oversee and balance the team's annual operating budget. 5. Manage all other administrative duties. 6. Written and verbal communication skills are important, along with a deep understanding of supporting the whole student.
Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree 2. College Tennis Coaching experience 3. Demonstrated ability to recruit academically and athletically successful student-athletes 4. Effective written, communication, and presentation skills
