REQUIREMENTS

• Assumes responsibility for the overall operation of the athletic department in the absence of the Director of Athletics.
• Assists in administering the NCAA Division II Intercollegiate athletics program for 10 men’s and 12 women’s teams, and four varsity sports.
• Assists the Director in monitoring and coordinating all day-to-day aspects of the Intercollegiate Athletic Programs. 
• Manage revenue and expense accounts for all athletic teams.
• Meet with head coaches on a regular basis to monitor progress of each individual program.
• Plans, organizes and schedules weekly practice schedules and transportation for all athletic teams with appropriate input, i.e., input from other coaches.
• Coordinates game day assignment of game day officials and administrators for home athletic events.
• Assists in the selection and recommendation of all supporting personnel, i.e., coaches, trainers and other athletic personnel, when requested to do so.
• Assists head coaches with purchase orders for equipment and supplies, meal money, travel and recruiting expenses, as needed.
• Assists head coaches with and monitors intercollegiate athletic schedules made by ECC and independent games.
• In conjunction with the Director of Athletics, plans, organizes and approves travel program for all intercollegiate competition, meetings, conferences and recruiting.
• Represents the College at Conference, local, state and national meetings.
• Serves ECC as an administrative support committee member
• Assists the Compliance Director and the Director of Athletics in preparing and submitting to appropriate personnel the completed Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) and NCAA reports as requested.
• Assists Director of Athletics in creating, developing, and executing short term and long range planning
• Assists Director in providing Strategic Oversight for athletic department and administrative support units (athletic training, strength and conditioning)
• Serves as a liaison with Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services
• Assists Director of Athletics by executing initiatives and special projects, evaluating functions, practices and the efficiency of facilities, and evaluating staff performance and providing leadership and guidance for personnel
• Other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
• Knowledge of NCAA rules/regulations
• Min 4 years’ coaching experience
• 1 year administrative experience in college/university environment preferred

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty and staff
• General knowledge of rules and/or experience officiating a sporting activity
• Ability to advise/motivate student athletes
• Fund raising experience desired
• Experience planning, developing and administering budgets helpful
• Ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
• Elevated computer skills and ability to adapt to new technology enhancements
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of faculty/staff, students, prospective students and parents and the general public.
