Responsibilities The University of Akron, a NCAA Division 1 (FBS) institution and member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) is currently seeking applicants for the position of assistant women's lacrosse coach. This position will assist the head women's lacrosse coach in the duties and responsibilities of operating a Division 1 Lacrosse program.
Primary responsibilities include: supporting the coaching efforts during competitive lacrosse matches; attending practices and workouts to assist with the training and preparation of student athletes for competition; ensuring departmental compliance with NCAA guidelines; working with numerous departments to help promote and support the program and student athletes; supporting the public relations initiatives of the department while maintaining positive relationships with alumni, students and parents; encouraging community involvement and promoting university pride.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one (1) year coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Solid understanding of player development. Recognition of talent. Excellent communication, comprehensive writing and organizational skills. Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Compensation and Benefits The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
