The Student Athlete Services Coordinator oversees leadership development, community service efforts, Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and program planning and implementation for student athletes.
Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Athletics Director, the Student Athlete Services Coordinator performs the following essential duties and responsibilities:
Student Athlete Services:
Serve as liaison to Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Lead and oversee
team engagement and service
student athlete development
community service
educational programming
career development programming
student athlete DEI initiatives
Assist with the student athlete welcome and orientation. Serve on departmental and campus-wide committees (where appropriate).
Other Duties:
Direct, organize, and supervise all student-athlete welfare activities including but not limited to: Leadership development, career development, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and health & wellness education. Attend SCIAC and NCAA meetings as necessary. Assist the Assistant AD for Facilities and Events when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferably in the areas of sports management/athletic administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver’s license or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events is required. Experience in an intercollegiate athletic environment, or college/university community, or a combination of related experience in an organization of similar scope as Pomona-Pitzer Athletics.
REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 40 hours per week on a variable schedule. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours will be required. Travel may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS: Temporary, full-time, non-exempt position, benefits eligible. This position is fully funded for two years through the NCAA DIII Ethnic Minority and Women’s Internship Grant. The hourly rate for this role is between $22.00-$23.00. The specific factors that the College will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include, but not be limited to: education, training, relevant prior experience, and performance in prior role.
