Primary responsibilities of the Marketing & Fan Engagement Intern include, but are not limited to: coordinating and assisting the operation and success of the athletic department’s comprehensive marketing and fan engagement initiatives; helping to increase revenue through increased attendance of season tickets holders, groups/organizations, and individual ticket buyers at ticketed athletic events; helping to increase student attendance at athletic events; enhancing the gameday experience for fans/spectators; helping to ensure corporate partnership agreements are fulfilled; assisting the planning and coordination of the athletic department’s campus and community outreach; assisting with the mascot program and Scotty’s Kids Club; assist in the creation and distribution of social media designed to increase interest, excitement, loyalty and revenue for PC Athletics; assist in the planning and coordination of athletics special events; and other duties as assigned.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Marketing & Promotions Coordinator will be involved in all areas of the department’s external relations with a focus on marketing, promotions and game presentation.
Implement comprehensive and strategic marketing, promotional and fan experience efforts for all sports, with particular attention to ticketed sporting events (football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball).
Collaborate with the Assistant AD for Strategic Communications and the Assistant AD for Marketing and Sales to coordinate the creation and execution of a social media strategy designed to increase views and followers of PC Athletics’ social media accounts and to fulfill corporate sponsorship requirements.
Work collaboratively with the Assistant AD for Marketing and Sales, the Assistant AD for Strategic Communications, and the Director of Video Productions to develop and implement a strategy to increase ticket sales and student attendance.
Collaborate with the Assistant AD for Marketing and Sales and the Assistant AD for Strategic Communications to produce game scripts and run-of-show (games, giveaways, contests, trivia, music, videoboard, etc.) designed to fulfill corporate sponsorship obligations, enhance the gameday experience, and make the gameday atmosphere fun, memorable and exciting.
Serve as the on-court marketing coordinator during men’s basketball and women’s basketball games, including the creation, coordinating and execution of all on-court timeout and halftime entertainment activities for men’s & women’s basketball games.
Coordinate various in-game elements (cheer squad, dance team, games, giveaways, contests, trivia and other elements) in order to direct the flow of athletic events, competitions and special events (Blue Mania, etc.) for the purpose of creating a positive fan experience.
Network with other marketing coordinators locally and around the conference in order to present new ideas and methods to further generate interest, excitement and engagement of spectators.
Coordinate and conduct select special events such as fan days, Scotty’s Kids Club events, season ticket holder events, on-campus student initiatives, student appreciation events, etc. in order to enhance awareness and support of PC Athletics.
Establish effective on-campus marketing efforts aimed at increasing student attendance and promote athletic events throughout the local community, including conducting community outreach efforts, in order to generate greater awareness, interest, excitement, and attendance at athletic events.
Coordinate with other members of the external relations team in order to plan and implement advertisement and graphics for special events on Blue Hose Sports social media, Templeton TV monitors, and Campus Groups.
Hire and manage an intern staff, including a Russell Program Intern, to assist in special events and promotions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Marketing and promotional experience in athletics or related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent public relations and promotional skills
Ability to work well with others
Ability to work nights and weekends for various functions and games.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business, Sports Administration, Marketing, Communications or other related field.
Marketing and promotional experience.
NCAA Division 1 football or basketball in-game marketing and productions experience.
Graphic design experience, preferably with Photoshop or Illustrator.
