Part-time employment- 10 month contract running from August 2023-May 2024
GA contract may be renewed for a second year for applicant to finish degree upon administration discretion.
The candidate must have a strong background in golf along with exquisite communication, organizational and supervisory skills with the ability to show mature and responsible leadership and work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities are to include but not limited to:
- Completing CARA logs using ARMS - Co-lead and plan team practices - Help recruit, potentially both on campus and at junior tournaments - Assist planning logistics for team travel to practices and tournaments - Assist driving 18 passenger van to and from practices and tournaments - On course coaching during tournaments - Comply with DI NCAA compliance - Serve as ‘head coach’ when head coach is unable to attend team events - Management of Social Media accounts (Instagram) - Any other program related task assigned by Head Coach
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor’s degree and admission into Texas A&M University – Commerce Graduate School - Valid driver’s license - Full-time graduate student - Be able to work weekends
- Trackman experience - D1 college golf experience - College golf experience - Understanding of golf swing mechanics - Proficient in USGA Rules of Golf - Sports psychology knowledge - Logistics planning - Ability to time management and adapt to various tasks - Ability to drive for long hours at a time - Ability to be standing and walking for long hours at a time
As a graduate assistant for the Texas A&M University-Commerce athletic department you are required to work department wide events as assigned by the Director of Athletics, as well as always being a face of Lion Athletics.
