As our new Head Women’s Basketball Coach, you will recruit, build and maintain the women’s basketball program to provide a positive experience for student athletes while positively representing the Institute in terms of public relations and exposure. Through coaching student athletes you will prepare the team for HCAC and out of League competitions with a goal to be nationally competitive. You will be responsible for program compliance with the NCAA and HCAC rules operating within Institute and Sports specific policies. You will plan and direct team and player development and training, skills development in team practices and/or workouts and individual skill sessions as well as organize and execute team practice and conditioning sessions. You will evaluate athlete performances and make final decisions regarding participation in competitions, assess opposing team members and devise game strategies, supervise the activities of Assistant Coach(es), Graduate Assistant(s) and work in collaboration with the trainers and other staff (equipment, sports information, facilities) assigned to the team. As the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, you will identify, evaluate, and manage ongoing annual recruitment of prospective athletes by developing and finalizing the selection process, conducting official and unofficial visits, and evaluating high school, club, and collegiate sports programs, both National and International. An integral part of student success, you will support team and players to thrive academically, work to integrate athletes with Institutional and department services and act as spokesperson for the department as well as provide leadership to local and other initiatives. You will oversee and finalize scheduling and planning of strategic and extensive travel arrangements, which may include transporting athletes and/or equipment to away competitions. You will oversee programs allocated to large budgets ensuring that program expenses remain within budget limits and making recommendations to the Athletic Director for preferred purchases. Through continual communication and sharing information about the program, you will lead and support alumni and friends of the program and be responsible for fundraising and meeting established annual fundraising goals. As our Head Women’s Basketball Coach, you will be a role model, exemplifying high standards of sportsmanship, conduct and values in support of the mission and vision of the Institute.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in a sports related field and two to three years playing and/or coaching experience or a bachelor’s degree in a non-sports related field and four to five years playing and/or coaching experience. Qualified candidates will also have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR (motor vehicle report). In addition to these qualifications, preferred applicants will have a master’s degree and Division III coaching experience.
