Under the supervision of the Executive Director for the UNM Lobo Club and the Chief Operating Officer for Athletics, the Assistant AD of Finance and Operations will oversee the financials of the UNM Lobo Club and assist with the overall business operations of the Athletic Department.
Duties and Responsibilities 1. Participate in the development of annual operating budget for the UNM Lobo Club and provides fiscal direction to the unit. Oversees the design, documentation, and implementation of various integrated systems and applications for periodic and ad hoc financial reporting, utilizing complex electronic financial information from UNM systems and databases (ChromeRiver, Banner, etc). Coordinates, compiles, and analyzes annual financial statements for UNM Lobo Club. Present financial statements and key information to leadership and Board members. Oversee UNM Lobo Club credit cards, reimbursements, and other business operations. 5. Maintains and creates internal controls to adhere to non-profit state guidelines. 6. Ensures records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards 7. May supervise fiscal techs and/or student workers. 8. Participates in short-and long-range organizational and operational planning. Compiles and analyzes financial information of the organizational entity, and develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations. Collaborates with and coordinates all components of the organization to ensure consistent reporting and adherence to federal and state financial reporting regulations and guidelines, and conformity with university fiscal policies and procedures. Analyzes, designs, documents, and implements internal financial reporting systems and procedures for the organization. Provides leadership, administrative management, and operational coordination to various technical, professional, and/or administrative personnel engaged in specified project activities, as appropriate to the position. Maintains records, contracts, and financial records on behalf of the athletic department. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Performs and/or oversees strategic, broad-impact financial analysis, reporting, and systems development for a major, multi-unit operating entity of the university. Leads and coordinates the design and implementation of financial/accounting/budget systems and reports. May develop and deliver financial and business training programs, as appropriate.
Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
