The Assistant Director of Events and Annual Giving will help advance the mission of Northeastern University and the athletics department by planning, organizing, and implementing all event, stewardship, and communication strategy to further our fundraising initiatives from alumni and friends of Northeastern Athletics. This position will work closely with the Athletics Development team and the Assistant Athletic Director, Annual Giving in developing and implementing strategies to achieve Athletics goals through events, and other Annual Fund initiatives. This position will organize and execute all fundraising events as well as assist with coordinating athletic alumni relations focused events. They will also plan and execute all stewardship initiatives for the annual fund within athletics, including but not limited to reporting, letter creation, events, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor's degree; 2 - 5 years experience in event management, fundraising and/or marketing. ?Master's degree preferred.
Proven ability to positively and effectively interact with a variety of constituents; organization and attention to detail is a necessity
Strong oral and written communications skills; strong interest in aligning personal goals with department goals; proven ability to utilize innovation and creativity
Experience working in intercollegiate athletics preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Event Management -
Create, manage and implement events for the athletic department that fall in line with the overall strategies set in place for stewardship and fundraising. Manage all communication, budgeting, marketing, and day of event activities as well as all follow up communications and activities for fundraising events. Create and implement growth initiatives to provide increased revenue in support of the goals of the Department of Athletics. | Husky Athletics Golf Classic | Hall of Fame Dinner | Program Anniversaries | Program Alumni Days and Fundraising Events | Special in-game recognitions (e.g., Hockey East 25th Anniversary Team). Work with coaches and other support staff to consult on all alumni events.
Athletic Donor Stewardship -
Provide high-level service and support for donors and prospective donors. Be able to provide monthly reports to coaches for thank you letters and lead the stewardship process for all annual giving athletic donors for the Athletic Department.
General Athletics Administration -
Work with the AIS office of Central Advancement on gift processing items and reconciliation matters. Understand and effectively communicate the core values of the department (Leadership, Critical Thinking, Coach as Educator, Appreciation of Difference and Community Service). Understand and abide by all University, Conference and NCAA rules and policies.
