ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coaching
Recruits and maintains a full roster for the men's and women's indoor and outdoor track programs Recruits sprinters, jumpers and throwers. Depending on the Head Coach's expertise, assistants may be responsible for the other two areas Serves as the Assistant Coach for the Men's and Women's Cross-Country Teams Develops and implements effective practice and meet strategies Schedules and organizes meets with approval from the Assistant Athletic Director Communicates schedules to athletes and department personnel Works with Athletics and Admissions staff to develop and implement recruitment strategies and programs to identify and attract promising student-athletes Maintains contact with and provides prompt follow up to inquiries from promising student-athletes Facilities Manager Duties
Makes recommendations for facility improvements and repairs to the Director of Athletics and Director of Plant Services Serves as the lead scheduler for stadium practice times for the fall and spring sports programs in the traditional and non-traditional NCAA playing seasons Coordinates the lighting schedule as it pertains to games, practices and other events at the stadium Serves as department liaison with Plant Services Other related duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Athletic Director.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three years collegiate coaching experience or related experience required.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with the personal computer.
Language Skills
Effective written and verbal communication is essential. Ability to articulate athletic policies and procedures. Ability to respond to and deal with varied constituencies.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to develop budgetary, demographic and other reports that may require mathematical computations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to gather, organize, interpret and present information for reports. Ability to respond to crisis and emergencies. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Interpersonal Skills
Ability to supervise and evaluate coaching performances. Ability to interact with students on a one-to-one basis as well as in groups. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others.
