The Durham Sports Commission (DSC) is a private, not-for-profit organization operated by Discover Durham to promote and market Durham County as a sports destination. The commission recruits sporting events and activities through business development programs and works to increase the capacity of local events to enhance economic impact and maximize utilization of facilities in Durham County. The Assistant Director reports to the DSC Deputy Director. This position is responsible for managing DSC internal operations including organizational administration and oversight, project management for all DSC projects, overseeing the internship program, grants and incentives program, and is the lead for servicing of all bid-on and local events.
