The Director of Athletic Trainer is responsible for overseeing of all phases of sports medicine for all Menlo College intercollegiate athletic programs and student-athletes, and supervision of the student training program and that assistant athletic trainer(s). This is a full-time, 11-month exempt position that reports to the Vice President for Athletics.
•Complete daily taping and treatments as necessary for all athletes.
•Establish availability of team physician.
•Establish and follow emergency procedures for care of student-athletes, including ambulance, physician, and related healthcare entities.
•Provide daily injury status report (written or verbal) to the head coach of the team(s) involved.
•Direct injured athletes to appropriate team physician, family physician, or health care facility.
•Coordinate rehabilitation of injured athletes with team physician, therapist, and family physician.
•Process and track all medical insurance issues.
•Maintain current injury and treatment records.
•Complete inventory and ordering of all necessary medical supplies.
•Coordinate the pre-participation physicals for student-athletes. •Establish a student training program.
