The Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach is responsible for t eaching and coaching student-athletes in order to develop and acquire the extensive tactical, technical and physical knowledge required to be a competitive Division III intercollegiate level student-athlete. In this role, you will assist the head coach in skill evaluation, instruction, planning, organization, and supervision of individual and team practices and intercollegiate athletic competitions.
Job Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Assist in the instruction of student athletes in the sport of volleyball
Assist in organizing, preparing and conducting practices, training, and competition
Recruit student-athletes in accordance with all Rhodes College, Southern Athletic Association, and NCAA rules and regulations
Assist with the holistic development of volleyball student-athletes
Represent the program and Rhodes college to students, parents, alumni, and the general public
Assist in managing the daily operations and administration facets of the volleyball program
Assist in social media and work with sports information
Assist in all duties as assigned by the Head Coach or the Director of Athletics
Appreciation of and working with a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial, and ethnic backgrounds
Bachelor's degree is required
This position requires a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and must be insurable by the College's insurance carrier.
Two years of experience coaching volleyball is required.
Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Must communicate effectively with all types of people, and establish and maintain a strong working relationship with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and other college personnel.
Must have the ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision.
