POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Athletic Trainer will co-coordinate the sports medicine program for Franciscan University’s intercollegiate athletics program, which includes 18 NCAA Division III athletics teams and the Men’s Rugby team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES •Will assist the Head Athletic Trainer(s) in day-to-day operations of the Athletic Training Department. Will oversee injury treatment, prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation; provide athletic training services at all assigned contests and practices. This includes NCAA eligibility paperwork and compliance. •Responsible for recordkeeping and documentation •Will assist with coverage of athletic events as assigned. •Will provide coverage for assigned teams, practices, and games.

Education/Credentials • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training from CAATE accredited school required (Master’s degree and collegiate experience preferred) • National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) certification • State of Ohio Athletic Training Licensure • First aid and CPR (instructor preferred)
Technical Skills • Provide athletic training services in accordance with professional, government, and athletic conference standards • Maintain accurate medical records in accordance with government and athletic conference regulations • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Workplace Factors: • Must be available after hours and on weekends to perform necessary duties for job completion • Occasionally will endure difficult weather conditions during outdoor contests • Ability to physically complete the daily tasks of a certified athletic trainer
