The University of West Georgia is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the part-time position of Assistant Softball Coach. The candidate must support the mission of the University of West Georgia, the UWG Athletic Department, and the UWG softball philosophy. The University of West Georgia is a Division II member of the Gulf South Conference. The candidate must be energetic, professional, and committed to improving the University of West Georgia softball in the GSC and the region.
Responsibilities include assisting with player development, recruiting prospective student-athletes, monitoring academic progress, assisting with team travel, and other duties as assigned.
2-4 years of coaching or playing experience
Must be able to lift 45+ pounds and withstand long days in the weather elements
The West Georgia Wolves are the athletic teams that represent the University of West Georgia in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Wolves compete as members of the Gulf South Conference for all 14 varsity sports. West Georgia has been a member of the GSC since 1983. The UWG department of athletics has a goal to be in the top-50 of the yearly Learfield Cup standings while adhering to the University of West Georgia strategic pillars of Relevance, Competitiveness, and Placemaking.
