Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applications for a full-time Athletic Communications Assistant to join our Athletics department. The Athletic Communications Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics Marketing, Communications, and Game Management in developing and implementing a plan for promotion of the athletic department to outside media and other stakeholders. Promotion includes the athletic and academic highlights of student-athletes and teams as a whole, but also how that success aligns with the goals of the university and department aspirations of a competitive and NCAA compliant DIII athletic program focusing both on the individual success of the student and the overall university athletic program.
Essential Job Functions
Enhances the storytelling and brand awareness of MSOE Raider Athletics through the creation of compelling content, highlighting teams and student-athletes through videos and podcasts
Report results, produce engaging game recaps, and prepare news items on sports teams and its student-athletes
Assist in maintaining Go-Raiders.com with current/historical files on teams, coaches, and student-athletes.
Create original written and visual content for the web site and digital media.
Focus on the day-to-day operations of athletics communications and serve as the primary media contact for multiple sport programs, as assigned.
Help monitor, train, and schedule student game day staff
Meet all national and conference deadlines for statistics as well as reporting of rosters and sports schedule.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as statistician for home events for teams assigned
Game day preparation including programs, marketing, live stream, and promotion.
Coordinate social media activity and multimedia production during home game day events
Work with individual sports and areas within the athletics department to promote and coordinate consistent in social media messaging
Design graphics for Athletics website, social media, and various publications
Assist with nominations for athletic and academic awards within our conferences and various coaching associations and CoSIDA.
At least two years’ experience in athletic communications at the graduate assistant level or above
Must be proficient in Presto Stats/NCAA Live Stats, as well as the full Adobe and Microsoft Office suites
Knowledge of all pertinent social media platforms
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in an organized and efficient manner required.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is partly sedentary, the ability to move is required. The employee is occasionally required to traverse within their work area as well as other areas on campus.

This job operates in a professional office environment, in athletic facilities and in all-weather outdoor environments. The role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, as well as standard athletic equipment.
