The director of athletics social media reports to the associate AD for communications and public relations and in coordination with all University of South Carolina Athletics teams. Responsibilities include the management and oversight of Gamecock Athletics social media accounts and the department's website, GamecocksOnline.com.
This position will strive to develop and foster a strong online community of Gamecock fans through various social and digital platforms. The position will develop and set in place a system to help grow that online community both in size and strength – a community that's welcoming to other fans (and opinions), sports an optimistic personality, and is proud to stand behind our teams and brand.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree + 2 years related experience in marketing, communications or digital media and experience managing social media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications Understanding of digital media and its use in collegiate athletics strongly preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Working knowledge of various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, You Tube – both using the platform and understanding the analytics), Microsoft Word, Excel and Photoshop. Ability with a camera (both still and video is a plus). Strong knowledge / understanding of sports. Excellent written and verbal communication skill
