Beginning Fall 2023, MCC will kick off its inaugural NJCAA athletics season with Men's and Women's Soccer, based on the Bullhead City campus. MCC is looking for an energetic, skilled professional to serve as Women's Head Coach.
The Head Coach reports to the Director of Soccer Operations and up to the Vice President of Student & Community Engagement. As Head Coach, the individual will actively recruit, build, and maintain a roster of quality student athletes and instill sportsmanship, integrity, and respect in participants. The coach will plan and conduct in-season and off-season practices and competitions. In addition, the coach will coordinate and participate in planning camps, exhibition matches, and fundraisers as time allows. Game and recruitment travel are required. This is a 10-month position with option to secure summer teaching employment or extra administrative assignment.
Head Coach Functions:
Responsible for planning and conducting fall in-season and spring off-season practices and competitions.
Actively develop recruitment strategies in accordance with NJCAA bylaws, identify students to recruit and cultivate an expansive recruiting network. Effectively communicate with prospective student athletes by mail, phone, e-mail and social media as compliant with NJCAA rules. Participate in on-campus and off-campus recruitment efforts.
Oversee overall management of program. Establish and arrange practice and competition schedules; ensure appropriate travel arrangements have been made. Adherence to assigned program budget. Responsible for the distribution and recovery of all equipment and uniforms.
Engage in various projects and related programs and activities promoting Soccer and the Athletics Department. This includes conducting soccer camps and clinics throughout Mohave County.
Participate in public relation opportunities with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and news media.
Provide student-athletes with instruction regarding physical health and safety and promote student-athlete safety and well-being.
Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and ensure compliance with NJCAA, ACCAC and Mohave Community College regulations; provide council to student-athletes regarding goals, academic success and other personal and sport related issues.
Seek out opportunities to serve on conference sport committees.
Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor(s), including participate in college committees and represent college/soccer program in community events and civic organization meetings.

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in a discipline taught at the College required if seeking to be eligible for adjunct faculty positions outside of coaching.
Superior knowledge and compliance of all National Junior College Athletic Association rules and regulations.
Minimum of two years of successful soccer coaching experience required. Collegiate coaching experience preferred.
Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Valid AZ driver's license or ability to obtain upon hire.
