Provides academic and life skills advising to individual student-athletes and athletic teams. To coordinate performance-related programming for student-athletes designed to position student-athletes to achieve the highest levels of physical, intellectual and personal growth during their Dartmouth career. To assist in the development and delivery of the Peak Performance initiative.
Advising – 40%
Individual advising meetings with student-athletes wishing to improve their academic and life skills. Connect student-athletes with appropriate campus resources in times of injury or illness.
Develop communication tools (including social media) to facilitate the delivery of information to student-athletes.
Program Planning – 20%
Initiates, develops and implements, in cooperation with campus constituents, programs to meet the educational and performance needs of student-athletes.
Works cooperatively with other DP2 staff members to develop consistent educational outreach programs and speakers for the Athletic Department student-athletes, coaches and staff.
Peak Performance – 15%
Meets with coaches, administrators, Undergraduate Deans, faculty members, and prospective student-athletes to explain the functions of the Peak Performance Initiative.
Collaborates with individuals on and off-campus to provide services related to Peak Performance Initiative.
Prepares various assessments and reports on activities of Peak Performance initiatives.
Team Faculty Advisor Program – 15%
Coordinates Team Faculty Advisor Program and implements new initiatives.
Facilitates connections between faculty, coaches and captains.
Maintains a handbook for faculty advisors.
Recruits faculty members to participate in the program.
Other – 10%
Serves as the staff advisor to Dartmouth’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Oversees the Jaeger Civic Intern for Community Service and in collaboration with this individual, works to establish and promote consistent community service programs.
Coordinates the Athletic Department's awards program including campus, regional and national awards. Collaborates on the presentation of the annual Celebration of Excellence.
Serves as the event manager for various Dartmouth Varsity sporting events.
Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
