The Director of Business Operations is responsible for the preparation, oversight and management of the Athletics budget. This includes allocation of funds; revenue and expense projections; maintenance of accounts; analysis of monthly financial reports; examination and documenting of financial transactions; completion of the NCAA and EADA financial reports; submission and calculation of all scholarship information; and compliance with all controller and procurement regulations.
Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, budgeting or financial management. Knowledge of state government fiscal and accounting processes. Ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts and interpret and analyze financial data, records and reports. Knowledge of Banner systems is preferred. Requires attention to detail and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field is required. In addition, a minimum of two years of business experience in an athletics setting is required, preferably at the collegiate level. A Master’s degree is preferred.
