Duties include assisting the head coach in recruiting and retaining student athletes in an effort to provide opportunities for team and individual academics and athletics; assisting the Head Coach with organizing and conducting practices; adhering to NJCAA coaching principles; supporting and participating in development, fundraising and corporate sponsorship efforts in partnership with the Harford Community College Foundation; and performing other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

A minimum of 30 hours of college credits and three years of experience with a combination of active game situation coaching at the high school, club/select, or collegiate level and professional playing/coaching experience are required.  Other requirements include:

• Expertise in baseball and excellence in coaching and instruction in practice and contests, while serving as a positive example of a leader and role model
• A valid driver’s license and a good driving record with fewer than three points.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.
• Demonstrated expertise in sports strategies that allow excellence in coaching and instruction in practice and contests while serving as a positive example of a leader and role model.
• Prior experience with recruiting efforts and student-athlete retention.
• Excellent and effective communication skills.
• Prior experience and participation in development, fundraising and corporate sponsorship efforts.
