The Sports Information & Operations Director maintains all institutional, conference, and NCAA deadlines, policies, and protocol related to sports information for all athletic teams at the institution. The Sports Information Director also maintains the Crown College Athletic website and social media accounts which includes content creation, updated rosters, staff, schedules, and statistics. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

• Maintain athletic website with current information (staff, schedules, rosters, statistics, etc.)
• Utilize social media functions to engage with various invested audiences
• Produce game recaps in a timely fashion (24 hour turnaround from completion of contest)
• Produce human interest stories for use on athletic and institutional websites
• Coordinate game and individual photography with the Marketing department
• Produce ‘GameDay Programs’ for home events
• Staff, train, and supervise stat crews for all home contests
• Comply with all UMAC Sports Information guidelines
• Keep and distribute stats for each home game to UMAC SID and conference SID’s
• Assist coaches in nomination of student-athlete for weekly and seasonal awards
• Create Statcrew and Word rosters for distribution to Conference SID
• Distribute rosters to opponent’s SID before away from home contests
• Maintain sport rosters and schedules on NCAA reporting sites
• Work with NCAA statistics coordinators to ensure that reporting deadlines are met
• Implement and Supervise all game day operations

 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

• Work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with those inside and outside of the athletic department
• Operate well in a busy environment where multiple activities may be occurring at one time
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken
• Understanding of and implementation of marketing strategies to attract student athletes
• Understanding of each sport sponsored by Crown College in order to keep accurate statistics
• Understanding of Statcrew duties and responsibilities
• Be in agreement with the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Undergraduate degree in Statistics, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field
• Experience with collegiate athletics statistics

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to the above minimum qualifications):

• Graduate degree in Statistics, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field
• Experience as a collegiate athlete
• Experience with Statcrew
