Job Summary: - Eastern Washington University is currently seeking an Associate Athletic Trainer-Head Football Trainer. The Associate Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and supervises the care of student-athletes competing in the football program. The Associate Athletic trainer is also responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the University's comprehensive sports medicine program. Travel will be required according to the football travel schedule.

Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of collegiate athletic experience in football.
- Certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and license issued by the Department of Health.
- National Athletic Trainer Association Certification required upon hire.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Candidates must offer demonstrated high degree of interest, ability, and/or experience promoting cultural competency or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications: - Master’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of four (4) years of college athletic training experience in football.
- Minimum of two (2) years of college athletic training experience at the NCAA Division I level in football.

Responsibility / Duty: - Assist in the overall supervision of a Division I Sports Medicine Program.
- Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses.
- Evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries.
- Providing counseling and education to football student-athletes.
- Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes.

Responsibility / Duty: - Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals for student athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete for assigned sports programs.
- Work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, and conditioning programs customized to meet individual athlete needs for football student-athletes.
- Schedule and coordinate athletic training staff and students for coverage of all team practices and athletic competitions for football.

- Applicants must be able to maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA and Institutional rules, regulations, and policies.
- Washington State Drives License is required for the job and must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Rules compliance is an important responsibility of this position. Employee shall support and comply with all applicable rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Big Sky Conference, and other established bodies that govern intercollegiate athletics and the University. In the event the employee becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe, that violations of rules compliance may have taken place, Employee shall report same promptly to the Compliance office.
- This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.
- All new employees must comply with EWU immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR and proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before beginning work at EWU. Waivers for the immunization requirements are available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs.
Salary Information: $51,119 – Maximum
