Salary Details:

Goucher pays for state licensure and NATA dues, as well as a generous professional development stipend.

The Head Athletic Trainer provides leadership and vision for the sports medicine program within the Department of Student Health and Wellness. In addition, they serve as the head athletic trainer for Goucher Athletics, providing and coordinating athletic training services for the intercollegiate athletics programs. Other duties include coordinating with team physicians and other medical professionals, supervising the staff of athletic trainers, and serving as a preceptor for a nearby athletic training program.

Goucher uses the medical model of sports medicine and the position reports to the Director of Student Health and Wellness, serving on the leadership team of the department. The position includes education for student-athletes around various areas of health and wellness (nutrition, mental health, sleep, substance use) and working with other campus professionals on relevant initiatives.

Education:

Required: Master's in athletic training or related field.

Professional Experience:

Required: 5+ years in a collegiate athletic training setting, with increasing levels of responsibility

Preferred: Experience as a head athletic trainer
