The Chief Executive Officer/Sr. Associate Athletics Director for Development is responsible for directing all Ole Miss Athletics Foundation operations, strategies, and goals, including oversight of both major gifts and annual fund and oversight and guidance in identifying prospective donors, cultivating donor relationships, and soliciting donations or gifts from individuals, corporations, or foundations. In addition, the CEO will work closely with the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation Board of Governors to ensure best practices and fiscal responsibility. This position reports directly to the Deputy Athletics Director for External Affairs but will work closely with the Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics in all fundraising efforts.
Examples of Work Performed:
Manage day-to-day operations of the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation
Oversee major gift and annual fund strategies to create innovative methods to enhance revenues from donors
Provide leadership and guidance for all solicitations, prospect management, proposal tracking, special events, and capital projects
Work in consultation with Vice Chancellor for Development to ensure proper collaboration and communication
Build relationships with other campus partners such as but limited to: Vice Chancellor for Finance, General Counsel, Alumni Association President, etc.
Manage a prospect portfolio of approximately 75 high-level donors working closely with Chief Development Officer
Work closely with Chief Revenue Officer to maximize annual fund opportunities
Maintain a strong relationship with Chief Financial Officer to ensure fiscal responsibility
Develop deep understanding of the ever-changing world of college athletics and proactive mindset to adjust to these changes
Participate in fundraising activities and events for the benefit of the Foundation and University such as Vaught Society events, Foundation donor events, University
Foundation events, Alumni Association events and other athletics department activities Assist in the development and implementation of future campaigns
Maintain knowledge of and articulate planned gift vehicles
Promote the growth of revenue for the Foundation through innovative programming and marketing
Build and cultivate relationships with individuals and businesses for development purposes and represent the athletics department in a positive manner through interaction with donors, fans, alumni, and community members
Maintain institutional integrity through the compliance with NCAA, SEC, and University policies, rules, and regulations
Travel for donor visits and development functions
Attend athletics competitions
Perform similar or related duties as assigned
Essential Functions:
1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation (60%)
2. Manage portfolio of major gifts prospects (25%)
3. Work with constituencies of the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation including the Board, campus partners and local relationships (10%)
4. Perform other duties as assigned (5%)

Minimum Requirements
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- 6+ years of major gift fundraising experience in a large university setting
- Experience with personnel oversight
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong and positive leadership skills
- Computer application skills including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word, Apple products, donation tracking software, and email
- Knowledge of the practices, principles, and methods of fundraising
- Knowledge of NCAA and SEC compliance rules and regulations
- Ability to be highly energetic, self-starting, and creative
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds
- Ability to support the equity commitments of the Foundation and athletics department
- Ability to effectively work in a highly consultative and collaborative environment
- Ability to give and receive information through vision, speaking and listening, and effective motor coordination. Corrective devices may be used
- Ability to travel
Preferred Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Master’s degree
- Experience in the development and/or execution of fundraising campaigns
- Extensive athletics fundraising experience at a Power 5 institution
