The University of Alabama is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Assistant Director, Games and Event Management.
The Assistant Director of Event Management will be responsible for coordinating the administration, management and directing of all games and events hosted by the University of Alabama Athletic Department which will include home games and events, post-season, SEC, and NCAA competitions. This position will report to the Assistant Athletics Director of Event Management and be responsible for game operations and internal/external events in support of Alabama Athletics Event Management. Event Management is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and managing all events occurring within Alabama Athletics Facilities. The Assistant Director of Event Management will work to host high level events with a focus on customer experience for our teams, staff, administrators, clients, and guests.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in sports administration, business administration, event planning, management, hospitality management, public relations, or related field with two (2) years of experience in event planning, coordination or management; OR a Bachelor's degree or higher in an unrelated field and at least three (3) years of experience in event planning, coordination or management; OR a Master's degree in sports administration, business administration, event planning, management, hospitality management, public relations or related and one (1) year of experience in event planning, coordination or management.
Ability to self-motivate, work in fast-paced environments, adapt to change, and work on multiple projects. Effective time management and organizational skills as well as attention to detail. Knowledge of NCAA and SEC policies and procedures.
Must be able and willing to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working collegiate athletics game operations / event management / hospitality within a Division I NCAA athletics department. Organizational and logistical event support experience for critical event related processes (facility scheduling, event bookings, invoicing, record keeping, etc.) a priority. Leading and managing event staff and graduate assistants from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of EMS scheduling software preferred.
