Job Function: Responsible for a significant part of the NCAA’s general accounting, fixed assets, and a critical backup to accounts payable and expense reports.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the following general accounting areas: Prepare monthly allocations. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations. Manage fixed asset capitalizations, depreciation, and reconciliations. Prepare audit workpapers as assigned. Expense Reports. Back-up review and approval of expense reports. Provide customer service on expense report preparation to business users. Provide support and back-up to Accounts Payable. Back-up payables processing. Assist in preparation of annual 1099-NEC filing. Maintain sales tax exemptions. Perform special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree
One to three years of experience in accounting.
Communication skills to communicate effectively and concisely especially with non-financial business users.
Problem solving skills to develop solutions and address problems as they occur.
Organizational and time management skills to handle workload and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail so that the NCAA’s books and records are accurate.
Advanced software proficiency in Excel and accounting systems. Ability to learn new systems. Ability query data and create analyses.
Estimated Travel Required: <10%
This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
All national office staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. As a new hire, you will be required to be fully vaccinated within 8 weeks from acceptance of offer and you will be required to show proof of that vaccination. New hires may submit a request for a medical or religious exemption to the vaccine requirement 1-week post offer if they are unable to comply with this mandate.
