Ancient City Soccer Club in beautiful St. Augustine, FL is immediately seeking 2-3 competitive coaches to work alongside the Competitive Director to coach & facilitate teams within our Ancient City Soccer Competitive and Academy programs for the 2022-2023 season and beyond.
The coach must strive to provide the players with the necessary tools to technically and tactically develop as players. The coach must have a strong soccer background, coaching experience and technical expertise to lead competitive and Academy players. The coach is responsible for building on the Club’s base of existing players and teams. He/she should possess strong written and oral communication skills, provide solutions for issues coaching issues on and off the field, and be able to represent the Club in a professional manner. The coach is a part-time position that has the potential to grow into a full-time position as our Club grows. This position requires a non-traditional work schedule of daytime hours off the field (1-2 hrs./week preparing & researching sessions) and; evenings, weekends, and some holidays on the field (8-15 hrs./week) depending on coaching responsibilities. Travel is required. The coach will have regular exposure to outdoor activities and all-weather conditions. Most importantly, the coach should share the Club’s core values of character, community, and service through the game of soccer.
- Lead and motivate teams of players (girls or boys) in the age range of 7-19 depending on coaching assignment
- Hands-on, and collaborative approach with Directors regarding tryouts, team rosters, and training schedules
- Collaborate with the Competitive Director to follow Director’s methodology, style of play, and game understanding with teams
- Work with the Competitive Director to improve the all-around development of our players. This includes:
- Coaching
- Curriculum
- Development pathway for all skill levels
- Responsible for assisting in a technical night training with the whole Club 1-2x/season
- Head coach for 1-2 competitive teams or coaching within our Academy Program
- Attend all coach meetings and communicate with Competitive Director on all soccer issues
- Provide semi-annual written evaluations to players on their team
- USSF “C” or higher license (preferred) or NSCAA equivalent (appropriate combination of playing and coaching experience commensurate with an advanced license may be considered)
- At least three years’ experience coaching youth soccer is required.
