The Assistant Director Video services is responsible for assisting with the videography and editing for video production projects, including video boards, with a heavy emphasis on social media video content for assigned sports programs. This position is expected to capture highlights and content for Fighting Illini athletic events, both home and away. In addition, video content may include long form features, highlight videos, hype videos, motion graphics, and promotional material. This includes but is not limited to filming, editing, and producing short and long form videos to be used across multiple platforms to enhance the Fighting Illini brand through social media strategy, recruiting, promotional and entertainment initiatives.
Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree in film/video production, cinematography, radio and television, documentary film production, photojournalism, communications, or a closely related field to the position.
Experience: Required: Three years of professional work experience in areas including non-linear video editing, motion graphics, video lighting and composition, camera operation, video production, or a closely related professional area. Demonstrated experience working in live television or comparable experience in athletic video board operation, production, or direction at a professional or collegiate program. Professional experience with digital video, including format conversion for social media distribution. Experience with Photoshop and After Effects, Adobe premiere or Avid.
