Supervise and lead the University of Oklahoma Athletics Department digital strategies. This includes working with each sport program and head coach at OU to maintain brand standards and develop digital strategies. This position will work with the athletic ticket office and the Sooner Club to strategically target and manage revenue strategies, while executing and fulfilling corporate sponsorship, licensing, and various partner agreements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee development and execution of digital strategies for OU Athletics, including all social media, email marketing and digital content
• Execute corporate sponsorship and licensing fulfillment
• Collaborate with the External Engagement team on athletics branding and Jordan digital strategies
• Collaborate with Stakeholders Relations department heads and their units on strategies related to digital/social media/email marketing, content creation and distribution, fan engagement, revenue generation including ticket sales and donations
• Oversee Associate Director of Digital Media, Director of Creative Content, department email marketing position as well as student interns
• Work with the Associate AD for Ticket and Advancement Operations and the Senior Associate AD for Advancement to formulate season ticket campaigns on digital platforms to generate revenue surrounding OU football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and baseball. Including paid social media campaigns
• Work with the Senior Associate AD for Advancement and Athletics Advancement to formulate strategic campaigns related to Sooner Club donation renewals and capital projects. Including paid social media campaigns
• Lead comprehensive digital strategies with communications staff
• Advise and council head coaches regarding digital strategies promoting their programs for stakeholders and prospective student-athletes
• Work with licensing unit regarding CLC and digital initiatives
• Oversee Digital Ad Spending and Digital Strategy budget
• Oversee INFLCR platform to better enhance the student-athlete’s digital brand
• Oversee and monitor analytics reports to measure the effectiveness of social media and email strategies
• Remain relevant with digital media standards, trends and technology and evaluate emerging technologies and platforms with a goal of implementing strategies as appropriate to better serve OU, OU’s stakeholders, student-athletes, and prospective student-athletes and stakeholders
• Continuously be aware and mindful that all activities reflect the Oklahoma Athletics mission statement and core values
• Knows, understands, and reinforces commitment to NCAA and Big 12 rules. Violations or suspected violations will be reported to the compliance staff
• Report to the Executive Associate Athletics Director of External Engagement
• Perform related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree, AND:
- 24 months of related experience.
Skills:
- Demonstrated excellent oral, written and presentation skills and proactive, open and responsive interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse student populations, university personnel (e.g. faculty, college deans, administrators, athletic coaches and staff), as well as representatives from the community.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and high degree of openness to new approaches and new ideas.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to compliance with all NCAA legislation and principles.
